The Swarthmore Lecture 2026
Monday 28th July 2025
Stuart is currently working with 'Ben' Pink Dandelion and Joanna Godfrey Wood on the publication of a collection of works by early Quaker leader, Margaret Fell (1614-1702). This will result in two volumes published by Barclay Press under the Inner Light Books imprint (volume 1 in 2026, and volume 2 in 2027).
The original collection was compiled by her family and published in 1710 under the title:
A brief collection of remarkable passages and occurrences relating to the birth, education, life, conversion, travels, services, and deep sufferings of that ancient, eminent, and faithful servant of the Lord Margaret Fell; by her second marriage, Margaret Fox (London: J. Sowle, 1710).
Making this publication available for the first time in over 300 years, the editors will provide a comprehensive introduction, along with guidance notes for each text included in the collection.

It has been announced that Stuart will be delivering this lecture on the theme of 'Anabaptists and Quakers: The Peace Church Contribution' at Bristol Baptist College on Wednesday 19th November at 5.00pm. There is more information about this on the Speaking page.
The lecture will be live-streamed.
